Shanghai Country ChurchPosted by kylie (Shanghai, China) on 17 November 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. I discovered a new 'old' building on Saturday. Its the Shanghai Country Church, designed by the Hungarian architect Hudec who is also responsible for many of Shanghai's fine old buildings. When it was built (I guess around 1930) it would have been on the very outskirts of the city, but now it is just outside the inner ring road. It is an oasis of calm and tranquility in a busy area - just behind me is a major road and very large shopping mall.
